Apple Cider Syrup
Homemade syrup that cooks quickly and adds something special to your breakfast dishes!
Servings: 2 cups
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tsp Penzey's Pie Spice Mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, ginger, anise seed and clove.
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 cups apple cider
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup butter cut into pats
Mix the sugars, cornstarch, spices and salt together in a saucepan with a whisk
Pour the apple cider and lemon juice into the pan while continuing to whisk.
Cook over medium heat until thickened to desired consistency.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter.
Serve warm over waffles, pancakes, or French Toast
